Only seven species of sea turtle exist today and six of these are found in tropical and warm temperate Australian coastal and reef waters, as well as the open ocean. Sea turtles have kept the same shape for the last 100 million years; they are larger than freshwater turtles and the marine Leatherback can grow to two metres long and weigh up to 1000 kg.
Sea turtles don’t breed every year but when they do females may lay several clutches of up to 120 eggs in each clutch in a season. Although the female visits on beaches at night to lay her clutch, the male never leaves the water.
With a family history going back 100 million years, its no wonder turtles symbolise long life and perseverance. Turtles encourage you to slow down and to enjoy life more.
If you still feel that you must rush, perhaps you should take time to examine your beliefs about time. What’s your hurry at the moment?
Take time to look at your goals and evaluate them. If you look honestly, you may now find that while your life is busy you are still not whole. If you deliberately choose to slow down, you’ll allow time for your ideas to develop into all they call be.
You’ll find now that you are protected from the negativity of others. Like Turtle, you have grown a shell which is your impenetrable shield and makes you impervious to pessimistic, disapproving or hurtful thoughts and people.
Just as Turtle carries his home on his back you too can “make yourself at home” anywhere, when you work with Turtle magic.
But do allow yourself to relax a little; you’ll enjoy life more, without the rush.
